Description
The Qualitative Research Methods course provides an introduction and advanced training in the most useful current qualitative research methods for social sciences.
In the first module, basic knowledge of the qualitative research cycle is brushed up. For the next modules, this basic knowledge is supposed to be present. In each of the following modules, a different qualitative method is discussed (e.g. In-Depth Interviews, Focus Group Discussions, Observations, and Go-Alongs). Moreover, how to analyse qualitative data and how to write qualitative data will also be discussed. Each module consists of a morning part with a lecture on the specific method and an afternoon part with exercises and practicals on these techniques.
This course is open for PhD candidates who have first followed at least one introductory course in qualitative research methods.
All course days will be held in Utrecht; the exact location will follow soon.
Having registered for a course implies that you are obliged to participate in all modules; Cancellation of course participation is only possible until four weeks before the start of the course. After that, costs may apply (see Registration and costs for details).
