Core Course 3: Writing Scientific Texts in English

Go to the current courses page to see when the next "Core Course 3: Writing Scientific Texts in English" will be held.

Aim

This course is aimed at writing and perfecting your scientific research article in English.

Content

We pay a great deal of attention to the structure and content of an article, for example: what should be in the introduction and how do you write that down? The language used for the different parts of an article will be discussed along with conventions of style, variation in language and linking words. Furthermore, if there are any grammatical problems that have remained difficult for you, it will also be possible to have a look at these. A number of (online) tools will be introduced so that you will be able to help yourself, even after the course has finished. In the course you will learn to look critically at your own written work and at other people’s writing. Moreover, during the course your language trainer will also give extensive comments on parts of your article, which will no doubt lead to a marked improvement in the quality of your article.
